A Bulgarian-Macedonian creative collaboration marks the beginning of the new production “Blood Wedding” after Federico García Lorca.

At Nikola Vaptsarov Drama Theatre - Blagoevgrad The creative process for the upcoming production “Blood Wedding” is already underway. Its premiere is expected in the new season, in September.
The project brings together artists from Bulgaria and North Macedonia in a shared creative process, promising a visually striking production in which theatre, dance and live music will come together in a powerful stage narrative based on one of Federico García Lorca’s most emblematic works.
Direction, choreography and dramaturgy are by Macedonian director and choreographer Filip Petkovski, who held a three-day workshop-audition in February, giving young actors and final-year students the opportunity to showcase their acting, dance and musical skills.
The set design is by Martin Manev, the costumes are by Antonija Guginska Jordanoska, and the music is by Petar Dundakov.

The project “Blood Wedding” is being implemented with the financial support of the National Culture Fund, Bulgaria, under the Creation and Distribution / Large-Scale Projects 2025 programme.
