On March 27, on the occasion of World Theatre Day, the traditional official ceremony for the National "IKAR" Awards for 2024 took place in the National Theatre. These awards have been presented since 1974, and this year marks their 50th anniversary.
The Drama "Nikola Vaptsarov" Drama Theatre in Blagoevgrad was awarded in two categories for the prestigious awards. The performance "Metamorphoses" based on Ovid, directed by Stayko Murdjev, received the award for "Technical Achievement." The other award went to Milen Apostolov for "Original Music" in the performance "The Transfiguration" based on Franz Kafka, directed by Veselka Kunchеva.
From the stage of the National Theatre, where the awards were presented, Margarita Macheva - the director of the Drama Theatre "Nikola Vaptsarov" in Blagoevgrad - thanked the entire technical team for their dedicated work, as well as director Stayko Murgjev for the exciting and meaningful challenge that everyone faced in creating this play.
