Georgi Manev


GEORGI MANEV was born on April 28, 1980, in Sofia. In 2004, he graduated from the specialty 'Acting for Puppet Theatre' at the 'Krastyo Sarafov' National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in the class of professor Zheni Pashova. He participated in the diploma performances: 'Insomnia,' directed by Zheni Pashova; 'Rike with Chili,' directed by Zheni Pashova; 'The Little Match Girl,' directed by Valentin Vladimirov; 'The Front Friend,' directed by Galya Diankova. 

He worked as an actor at the State Puppet Theatre in Gabrovo, the State Puppet Theatre in Sliven, and the Sofia Puppet Theatre. In 2011, he became a part of the ensemble at the 'Nikola Vaptsarov' Drama Theatre in Blagoevgrad. 


His roles in the theatre include: 

  • Priest in "The Fortuneteller" by Stefan L. Kostov, director Kostadin Bandutov (2011);
  • Niki in "Minutes Before Christmas" by Temenujka Kolarova, directors prof. Rumen Rachev and Boryana Georgia (2011);
  • Storyteller in "The Snow Queen" by Evgenii Schwartz, directors prof. Rumen Rachev and Boryana Georgia (2012);
  • Thane in "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare, director Grigor Antonov (2012);
  • Bojan in "Geratsi" by Elin Pelin, director Boyko Bogdanov (2013);
  • Simon and Gore in "The Barrel of Gunpowder" by Dean Dukovski, director Sofia Ristevska (2013);
  • Luka in "Chekhoviada" by Anton P. Chekhov, director Yavor Veselinov (2014);
  • Andrea in "Boryana" by Jordan Yovkov, director Boyko Bogdanov (2014);
  • st. Nikolay in "Women's Kingdom" by Stefan L. Kostov, director Rumen Popkostadinov (2015);
  • Stefan in "In the Feet of Vitosha Mountain" by Peyo Yavorov, director Margarita Macheva (2017);

  • Winner of four awards from the "Mihail Lakatnik" National Puppet Theatre Festival in Yambol in 2015;
