Drama Theatre “Nikola Vaptsarov” – Blagoevgrad has signed a contract with FRIBUL Ltd. for the design of a facility—a storage base for the theatre’s stage sets—part of the implementation of Project No. BG16FFPR003-1.001-0010, “Modernisation of Drama Theatre ‘Nikola Vaptsarov’ for sustainable and integrated development of culture, cultural tourism and the creative industries in Blagoevgrad”, funded under the “Regional Development” Programme 2021–2027.
The signing of the contract is one of the key milestones in the process of modernising the theatre and updating its infrastructure. With the implementation of the project, conditions will be created for a more efficient organisation of activities, the storage of stage sets, costumes and technical equipment, as well as the optimisation of production processes.
The transformation of the production and storage facility for stage sets is of essential importance, turning it into an innovative cultural centre for work with students and young people. The spaces are planned to be adapted and equipped for educational programmes, theatre workshops, youth productions and a wide range of creative activities.
The new centre will encourage young people’s active participation in the cultural life of Blagoevgrad, create opportunities for developing creative skills, and support the building of a sustainable connection between the institution and young audiences. Through an integrated approach to culture and education, the project aims to strengthen the theatre’s role as a leading cultural and public institution in the region.
