With the arrival of summer, the “Nikola Vaptsarov” Drama Theatre – Blagoevgrad once again invites its audience to a special evening under the open sky – THEATRE IN THE PARK: LOVE/UNLOVE. At the close of the theatre season, you can expect an intimate and philosophical theatrical experience, combined with a glass of wine, summer atmosphere, and poetry that touches the soul.
Created from fragments of Bulgarian and foreign poetry, prose, interviews, and letters, the performance explores love not as a romantic utopia, but as a state of alienation, illusion, and inner solitude.
“Love/Unlove” traces how the idealised image of “her” or “him” begins to crack, turning into a nightmare. It is a theatrical dedication to a terrible fantasy – love as a meaningless dream, as a refusal of reality, and an unwillingness to accept human imperfection.
The performance is directed by Nikolay Yordanov, with a cast featuring Bilyana Dilkova, Lora Hristova, Aladin Aliibrahim, Aleksandar Mitev, Teodor Kukov, and Ognyan Spirov.
The performance can be seen on July 3, 4, and 5 at 9:00 p.m. in Bachinovo Park – Barbecue Area.
Each guest will be welcomed with a glass of wine as a gesture to the shared summer experience. Don’t miss the chance for theatre in the park, under the stars, surrounded by poetry and silence.
Tickets can be purchased at the theatre’s box office and online at dtblagoevgrad.com.
