On April 7th, with a celebratory performance, the Satirical Theatre "Aleko Konstantinov" awarded the "Golden Kukerikon" prizes for contributions to the development of the art of comedy and satire.
One of the major winners of the evening was actor Kalin Vrachanski, honored in the "Male Role" category for his roles as Beppo and Tito Merelli in the play "A Comedy of Tenors" by Ken Ludwig, directed by Asen Blatechki.
The premiere of "A Comedy of Tenors" was on february of last year at the Drama Theatre "Nikola Vaptsarov" in Blagoevgrad. Currently, the production enjoys full houses and enthusiastic applause throughout Bulgaria. The action transports the audience to 1930s Paris - a hotel room, four tenors, two wives, and a few hours before the spectacular show of the evening.
Kalin Vrachanski vividly embodies the characters of Tito Merelli (one of the tenors) and Beppo (the hotel bellhop), alongside outstanding actors Asen Blatechki, Gringo-Bogdan Grigorov, Yordan Angelov, Iva Kaneva, Nedyalka Pavlik, Pepa Maneva/Mariana Boneva. Audiences can expect a noisy and humorous adventure filled with comedic situations and romance.
In addition to "A Comedy of Tenors," Kalin Vrachanski also appears in the plays "Doubt" and "Metamorphoses," which you can see at the Drama Theatre "Nikola Vaptsarov" in Blagoevgrad during the month of April.
