'Nikola Vaptsarov' Drama Theatre has a total of four nominations for this year's national 'Ikar' awards, presented by the Union of Bulgarian Artists.
The grand spectacle 'Metamorphoses' based on Ovid, directed by Stoyko Murdzhev, has been recognized in the categories of 'Masterful Technical Performance' and 'Set Design' for Nikola Nalbantov.
The contemporary interpretation of Kafka's novella "Metamorphosis" by director Veselka Kuncheva has been nominated in the "Music" category for Milen Apostolov and in the "Debut" category for the exceptionally talented actor from the cast of the play - Teodor Nenov, who embodies the character of Gregor Samsa.
We remind you that the theater in Blagoevgrad was among the contenders for the Ikar award last year with the performances 'Doubt' by John Patrick Shanley, directed by Stayko Murdjev, and 'The Boy in the Last Row' by Juan Mayorga, directed by Teya Sugareva. For another year, the Union of Bulgarian Artists ranks the performances of the 'Nikola Vaptsarov' Drama Theatre among the highest achievements in the performing arts in the country, which is an exceptional honor for us.
When is the ceremony?
The Ikar Awards are presented on the World Theatre Day - March 27th.
We wish success to the nominees!
